Pastor’s Report
- Pastor shared his report and the upcoming events.
- He will be on vacation June 4th-11th for his daughter’s wedding.
- There will be a Congregation Picnic after worship on June 1st to support Mercy Bags. Youth request that congregation bring food items for the mercy bags. The list will be run in the worship folder. They are also planning games.
- Pastor provides an update on the business of the convocation.
- 535 congregations in the NALC.
- 53 congregations in the Carolina Mission Region.
- 17 congregations in the SC Mission District.
- 2025-2026 budget was approved.
- Each mission district elected lay members to the CMR Council.
- Passed the amendment to CMR constitution to allow two delegates to each congregation for the CMR convocation. The congregation must ratify by September 3rd, 2025.
- Approved $2,000 to be sent to St. Jacob’s for disaster shed lighting and fan improvements.
- Will receive two other checks for the Disaster Response Shed – $540 and $700.
Ministry Teams
Safety: Robert
- Payment form request completed, and camera installation has been paid.
- April services were well attended and monitored.
- Checking expiration dates of team members CPR certifications.
Christian Education: Sherrie
- VBS materials ordered.
- Starting to recruit volunteers for VBS.
- Appreciate Pastor teaching the kids for Sunday School in April and May.
Congregational Care: Billy
- The team cleaned up the picnic shelter for Celebration of Life for Kristen.
- Provided finger foods for the family of Kristen Nickel.
- Continue to assist members with errands as needed.
Discipleship: Lynn
- 16 Mercy Bags packed and delivered to We Care.
- Ordered 1,000 Mercy Bags.
- Disaster Relief Shed
- 338 Flood Buckets.
- 52 Bibles.
- 130 Hygiene Kits.
- 90 Elementary School Kits.
Property: Gerald / Danny
- Fellowship Hall newly installed exterior side doors primed and painted inside and out.
- Replaced the doorknob on the Fellowship Hall workroom door allowing it to be locked as needed.
- Completed the installation of Sanctuary mini-split heat pump units (2 Mitsubishi 3 Ton Unites with Wi-Fi thermostats).
- Purchased and installed necessary materials to connect previously buried water line for water access to the flower boxes at the church sign.
- Continue to work on parking lot drawing and permits.
- Awaiting grant to proceed with bus shed ventilation and additional lighting.
Next scheduled meeting is June 3, 2025 @ 6:45 PM in the church office.
