That’s a wrap on Musical Mondays! Thank you to all who participated and helped out- whether it be dropping off each week, providing a meal for our kids, or coming to our showcase to see all that we had learned- Musical Mondays was a huge success! We learned a lot and had a lot of fun doing so. Week one, we learned about why we worship God for all that He has done and all that He continues to do in our lives. Week two, we learned the song “Earth and All Stars” while talking about the creation story. Week three, we learned the story of Moses leading the Israelites through the Red Sea and the Prophetess Miriam leading the people by tambourine and song. Week four, we talked all about the life of David and how no matter what he went through, he always gave praise to God. Week five, we learned about the Psalms and shared the favorite Psalms of people we love. Lastly, Week six, we put it all together to show our friends and family everything that we learned. From tye-dying our own hand bell gloves, to making tambourines and lyres, musical beanbags, to learning forte and piano with our favorite game “I lost my closet key” — we had a blast. Thank you again to all who participated, it truly was a great summer together!
Blessings,
Rachel

Farewell and Godspeed

As we prepare to begin a new season of Sunday school and Youth activities, we do so having said goodbye to our friend and sister in Christ, Rachel Shelton. With much of her work happening behind the scenes of everyday congregational life, I would assure you the church office is going to be a much quieter place. Rachel served our congregation well and became an important part of our ministry. As we begin our search for a new Director of Youth and Family Ministries, we do so with thankful prayers and ask God’s continued blessing on Rachel in her life and witness to the Gospel.

Musical Mondays has been such a huge success for our church and especially our kids. There was such a wonderful response when we first announced it to the congregation. Over the past five weeks, we have sang, danced, made tambourines and lyres, and played numerous games together. Yes, we have fun. Of course we do. But the real growth of these children has been in all that they have learned. We start our morning out with a time of devotion and a lesson for the day. Our main objective is to learn that no matter what situation you are in, no matter how you do it, and no matter what anyone else says – you are called to worship God. Worship is our joyful response for all that God has done for us. Throughout each week, we learn different ways that we can praise God – by doing crafts, by being silent before the Lord, by reading Psalms, or by being in God’s house with each other. It truly has been a wonderful experience, and we still have a few weeks left. Watch your worship folders for a MUSICAL MONDAY SHOWCASE to be held. We would love to see you there.
In Christ,
Rachel

Women’s Bible Study

Posted June 30, 2021 By admin

The Proverbs 31 Woman study is a nine session study that gives a realistic look into the lives of a number of biblical women, both from the Old and New Testaments. Each chapter is based on a specific theme from Proverbs 31, and looks at how it was exemplified in that woman’s life story. The eight women described in this study were not examples of perfection. They were ordinary, imperfect human beings like the rest of us. But God used them as his instruments, to his glory. The traits and character exemplified by these biblical women give us an insight into the way God trans-forms our lives of faith in Christ. We will meet every Tuesday at 10:30 AM starting on July 13th. Please reach out to Rachel if you would like to participate or have any questions. An email has been sent out with more details. Please let us know if you did not receive it.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who volunteered with VBS (Concrete and Cranes). To all of the teachers, those who provided food & drink, or helped out in any way: THANK YOU. We could not have done it without all of you.

Rachel

Kids For Christ

We had a great time at KFC a couple of weeks ago learning about Philippians 1:6 “Being confident in this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus”. A glimpse into what our VBS key verse was and then the kids helped decorate some boards to go along with the theme by throwing darts at paint-filled balloons & using spray paint for the first time! We had so much fun & only got a liitttttleee messy!
